I am very honored to be awarded as the 2013 American Business Woman. While being an ABWA member and participating in our programs and conferences, I have obtained strength and courage from our association of phenomenal business women. I believe that our association has helped me develop as a professional, a leader, a teammate, and a friend. I joined the association to hear and learn from our professional speakers, and quickly moved to help support our Local chapter through board positions, then Regionally with our Council Formation and board position, and then Nationally with the NWLCs leadership.   And know that I am here because you are with me and have helped me grow personally and professionally. I especially appreciate the business women in River Region Chapter in Montgomery AL , the Alabama Council, our District I VPs, and the NWLC Teams for their support and encouragement!

This summer I moved from Montgomery, AL to Shreveport, LA with a job promotion, and  plan to become active in the Parvenu-Bossier Chapter and District II events to meet other ABWA members, develop relationships and help grow the association.  I look forward to hearing from you and discovering how I can further help you and the association.

One question that was asked during our Top Ten Interviews was “How can ABWA partner with other organizations?” I believe that there are technical organizations that would value from a partnership with ABWA on Leadership, Team Skills and Emerging Business Topics.   I am interested in working with other members who have been successful in Association Partnerships and translating /forming new partnerships with technical associations. I feel this is a great way to extend our hand-of-friendship to others businesses and form mutually beneficial alliances.   I believe that this proactive outreach is a great way to show the value of ABWA and will help others grow. I look forward to learning from members across the country and seeing how we can extend our network to help others.
