Program: Speaker: Nicki Millan, CLU, ChFC, CPCU, Claims Consultant ? P&C Claims Nicki Millan has worked in the Insurance industry for over 24 years. She?s held various professional and leadership positions throughout her career and is passionate about mentoring young professionals. Her career has allowed her to live in several cities throughout the United States and she currently resides in Bloomington, IL. Nicki is a native of Kentucky. She received a bachelor?s degree in Business from Murray State University and has completed multiple professional designations. She is the Co-Chairperson for the Bloomington Normal Equal Pay Coalition which was established in the spring of 2015 in partnership with the McLean County YWCA and a member of the League of Women Voters of McLean County. In her free time, Nicki enjoys traveling with family and friends and exercising. She has completed seven half-marathons. League Vision Statement

Illinois Heartland Chapter ABWA will foster the personal and professional development of women in our chapter and the Bloomington-Normal area. The chapter strives to be welcoming, supportive, and friendly, and to provide a professional, unique opportunity for all women to continue to grow.

Scholarship Opportunities

Illinois Heartland Chapter of the American Business Women?s Association (ABWA) is offering a $2000 scholarship through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF).

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be women who:

- are U.S. citizens, - have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, - will be a college freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate level in August 2017, and - are attending or have been accepted at an accredited U.S. college or university authorized to confer a minimum of a baccalaureate degree.

The application will be completed online and requires a biographical sketch, three (3) professional letters of reference, and an official transcript. Trustees of SBMEF serve as the selection board for the scholarship.

Eligible women may request access to an application by contacting Alexis Kalish at terablue@live.com. Please provide: name email address to be used in the application process grade/level in school. If currently in college, include the number of hours you will have completed by the end of the Spring 2017 Semester.

NOTE: Applications must be completed by March 31, 2017. The first ten (10) fully completed applications meeting eligibility requirements will be forwarded to the trustees for review. A minimum of three (3) eligible applications is required to make the award.

This is a one-time scholarship and is not renewable. A check will be issued jointly to the educational institution and the recipient. Fund use is limited to tuition, books, and fees.
