Illinois Heartland Chapter of the American Business Women?s Association will foster personal and professional development of women in our chapter and the regional area. The Chapter strives to offer opportunities for education, leadership, development, networking support, and local and national recognition.

Scholarship Opportunities
ABWA

Illinois Heartland Chapter of the American Business Women?s Association (ABWA) is offering a $2000 scholarship through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF).

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be women who:

- are U.S. citizens, - have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, - will be a college freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate level in August 2018, and - are attending or have been accepted at an accredited U.S. college or university authorized to confer a minimum of a baccalaureate degree.

The application will be completed online and requires a biographical sketch, three (3) professional letters of reference, and an official transcript. Trustees of SBMEF serve as the selection board for the scholarship.

Eligible women may request access to an application by contacting Alexis Kalish at terablue@live.com. Please provide: name email address to be used in the application process grade/level in school. If currently in college, include the number of hours you will have completed by the end of the Spring 2018 Semester.

NOTE: Applications must be completed by March 31, 2018. The first ten (10) fully completed applications meeting eligibility requirements will be forwarded to the trustees for review. A minimum of three (3) eligible applications is required to make the award.

This is a one-time scholarship and is not renewable. A check will be issued jointly to the educational institution and the recipient. Fund use is limited to tuition, books, and fees.
