League Vision Statement

Vision Statement (La Capitale) To be recognized as the chapter and business women's organization, both locally and globally, that best supports, inspires and educates all women in their desire to succeed in their business, career and personal lives within a circle of friendship, encouragement and sisterhood.

Mission (ABWA) The mission of the American Business Women's Association is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition.

Scholarship Opportunities

La Capitale Chapter's Scholarship Applicant(s) selected may be given up to $1000 per scholarship. Application deadline is: March 31 for the FALL Semester/October 31 for the SPRING semester

Eligibility requirements: Citizen of U.S. and resident of Ascension, East or West Baton Rouge, East or West Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Point Coupee, or St. Helena parishes. Cumulative grade point average of 2.5 with a 3.0 in major field of study. Attending an educational institution in Louisiana. Not related to a La Capitale chapter member.

To apply for a La Capitale Scholarship Complete the scholarship application. with current secondary and post-secondary transcripts, three (3) current letters of reference from individuals not related to you: Employer (if employed), educational institution, and personal representative, and a short biographical sketch, no longer than one typed page, labeled with your name at the top. The sketch must include career objectives (long and short term goals) in field of study, work experience, community service, etc. . Return completed application by October 31 for spring semester or March 31 for fall semester to ABWA Scholarships, P.O. Box 14866, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70898. Your application will be accepted only if it meets all eligibility requirements.
