Lois Campbell of Quincy was named Woman of the Year, and Melissa Clopper-Lord of Quincy was named Protégé of the Year at the Feb. 2 American Business Women?s Association?Quincy Charter Chapter monthly meeting. The Woman of the Year is awarded by the chapter to a member who is a leader, volunteers a lot of time to the ABWA on a local, regional, and national level; and sponsors new members. Campbell, Quality System Coodinator, at J.M. Huber Corporation, is the Chapter Secretary, a member of the Fundraising Committee, and serves on the Executive Board. Campbell has represented the ABWA at Regional and National Conferences and is involved in several Chapter fundraisers. She has been a member since 2010. She is also a Mary Kay Consultant and Ruby Ribbon Representative. The Protégé of the Year is awarded to a member who has completed her first year, going into her second year and is actively involved in the Chapter. Clopper-Lord, Business Development Representative at Members 1st Community Credit Union, regularly attends the monthly meetings and is involved in several Chapter fundraisers. Clopper-Lord also publishes the Chapter Newsletter She has been a member since September 2015. ?Lois and Melissa have both displayed qualities that show they are leaders in our ABWA Chapter and in the community. We are very lucky to have both of them in our organization. They have truly made a difference,? said Linda Flesner, Chapter President. American Business Women?s Association brings together businesswomen of diverse occupations in the Quincy area and provides opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally. They are women with diverse talents and experiences working together to achieve a common goal; to create a supportive environment through fellowship, education and training. The Chapter was established on Nov. 4, 1962. Membership is open to all business women in the area.
