League Vision Statement

The Chapter Vision Statement of the Rochester Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association is to support, mentor, and encourage each other personally, professionally, and throughout our community.

Scholarship Opportunities

The Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund of the American Business Women's Association Scholarship Guidelines: The maximum grant amount for each student is $2000 per year. The institution must be located within the U.S. and is licensed, accredited or state approved. Each grant awarded is for one academic year only and is not renewable. Recipients may receive only one Outright Grant per Award year. Funds awarded may be used for tuition, books and fees. In the event that the applicant receives full funding of tuition, the scholarship must be returned to SBMEF. Check for grants awarded are made payable to the educational institution and the applicant jointly. The SBMEF Board of Trustees serves as the selection board for awarding all grants. Checks must be cashed within 6 months of issuance. Candidate Eligibility Requirements Must be a female U. S. citizen that has completed a minimum of 60 credit hours. Must be attending an institution that is authorized to confer degrees at the baccalaureate level or higher in the United States. Must provide a biographical sketch, three professional letters of reference and an official college transcript. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale. Procedures/Checklist: Your application will be completed online and will include the following: The applicant must complete the online application. The applicant must provide her biographical sketch. The applicant must provide three (3) professional letters of recommendation. The applicant must request her most recent transcript.
