League Vision Statement

ABWA Tu'Ya's vision is to be the premiere women's organization in Oklahoma.

Tu'Ya is a Chickasaw word meaning 'to climb' or 'to rise'; therefore, we will continually promote unity and cooperation within our chapter, allowing us to individually and collectively 'cimb' or 'rise' higher.

We will enhance our membership through coaching and mentoring, through building community awareness of ABWA, through offering networking opportunities, and through promoting education.

Karlea Barnes is one of this year's Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund recipients. Karlea will be receiving a $2000 check from Tu'Ya and ABWA National and will be honored at our Oklahoma Area Council Focus on Women Seminar in September. Karlea is an outstanding young woman who was on the President's Honor Roll and graduated as Summa Cum Laude. She is now working on her MBA. She is a member of the Women's Energy Network and the Society for Human Resource Management. She was also appointed as Chair of her organization's Employee Engagement Team which works to identify opportunities to improve the work environment and promote a culture of empowerment. Congratulations Karlea, we wish you continued success!
