We're raising funds! Can you help?
Each spring, the fabulous ladies in our Chapter put together an online auction with donations from their own businesses, professional connections, and friends in the Lubbock community. The funds raised through this auction help to provide Professional Development grants to our members, as well as Scholarships & Camperships for young women in our community. We invite you to browse, bid, and buy here!

Empowering Women through Educational Scholarships
Today’s scholarship recipients are tomorrow’s leaders. ABWA members have provided opportunities for women to achieve their personal and professional best by championing educational opportunities through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF). Since 1953, SBMEF has awarded almost 18 million dollars in scholarships to more than 17,000 women. To learn more about available scholarships, go to sbmef.org.
Member Spotlight: Kim Davis
Kim Davis has been an active member of ABWA off and on for over forty years, serving in all officer roles and committee positions at some point. She is currently the Vice President of the Lubbock Area Lights Chapter, for which she has led a tremendously successful recruitment event planning committee. She has also been a powerhouse in running the chapter’s annual silent auction fundraiser each spring for several years in a row. Outside of ABWA, Kim works as the Director of Planned Giving for the Texas Girls & Boys Ranch. She is a Texan through-and-through who loves sports, wine, and live music. Not only is she a “boy mom,” having raised three sons (and one “bonus son”) in Lubbock with her late husband, Waylon, but she is also an Army mom! With great excitement, she “finally got a daughter” when one of her sons got married in January of last year. We love and appreciate Kim so much!
